The Court of Appeals

James C. Hopkins is Associate Clinical Professor of the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program at the University of Arizona Rogers College of Law.

Professor Hopkins is Metis from Quebec, Canada and teaches in comparative indigenous law with a focus on natural resources and economic development.

A graduate of the University of Toronto Law School and member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Professor Hopkins is also a graduate of Harvard Law School’s Master of Laws Program.

Professor Hopkins’ public service in the State of Arizona includes membership on the Governor’s Tribal Health Advisory Group from 2004 to 2006 and his publication and research areas include tribal, state, and local taxation.
